Friends...
I hope you are all well. We had a good meeting last night with three of us with myself. With so few, decisions were very quick and precise. Read through these minutes carefully!
1. Blue and Gold Banquet. It was decided that Laurel Flowers and Jimmy will be allowed the blessings of organizing and creating the activity. It will take place on Tuesday evening, 23 Feb 2010. The theme is "Happy Birthday, BSA." Laurel and Jimmy can call on any committee member for help.
2. Carlos Lopez's Arrow of Light award ceremony has been planned for 29 Sep 2009 (Tue, Sep pack mtg).
3. The Fall Roundup may be complete with the new cubs we have incorporated into the pack. Chris Bushman will be checking on the rules. If we have met the goal, we will receive free pinewood derby kits.
4. A field trip is planned for October and a service project for Nov or Dec so stay tuned for what they will be and when. Parents will be asked to help out on both of these projects to work with the boys. All dens will need help so stand ready to step forward and volunteer. Please let Chris Bushman know of your willingness to serve.
5. Several suggestions for new leaders were made and approved for consideration by the bishopric. Interestingly, there was no opposition to any of the names from those present!
6. The themes for the rest of the year are: Sep (Cub Scout pockets); Oct Jungle Safari; Nov (Cub Scout salute); and Dec (Works of art).
It was a quick and efficient meeting. Thanks to you all.

Just a side Note :
We have meet and exceeded the District's goal for more registered cub scouts! We get FREE pinewood derbies this year! YAY us!

Thank you
A BIG thank you to the leaders, parents and
one grandparent who came on the cub scout hike on Saturday.
We had so much fun!
The cub scouts who went either complete or half way complete the requirements for their Leave no Trace Behind Award.
The cub scout pack has also completed the requirements for the National Summer time Pack Award -- YAY

Fall Roundup
It's that time of the year -- Fall Round up!
Fall Round up is where or when we try to increase our registered cub scouts and gain new ones. The Council has given each Cub scout pack an incentive, if you may.
The incentive is that they will give us FREE pinewood derbies, if we increase our numbers by just 5!
Omar from the Rio Grande ward just turned 8, so he helped us out. YAY!
Paper work! Paper work: Each new boy has to fill out and return a cub scout application to Sister Bushman
Fall Round up runs August 1 to October 31.
Den Leaders & Parents & Ward leaders: look at the Primary class list for those boys who do not come out to cub scouts. Even boys in your neighborhood are welcome to come too.

Cub Scout Hike
There is a change in the cub scout hike. It was schedule for Saturday (that's this coming Saturday. But instead, it has been changed to Saturday August 29.
Same 'Bat' time -- 10 am
Same 'Bat' place -- El Malpais National Park
(there I'm showing my age)
Sorry about this-- You can blame it on Brother Bushman. The High Council was told to stay in town for the weekend

Cub Scout Committee Notes
Cub Scout Committee Members,Below are some notes from Tuesday's Committee meeting. Please remember that our next meeting will be Tuesday, September 8, at 6:00 pm.
The pack field trip has been rescheduled to Saturday, August 29.
After this month we are planning to have field trips only every other month.
To avoid conflicts with the Sage ward Relief Society, Cub Scout den/pack meeting will not be held on the same evening as quarterly enrichment nights.
We will coordinate with the enrichment leader/Relief Society presidency on this matter.
Chris Bushman is preparing packets to give to new Cub Scouts and leaders.
These will be ready soon.
The district's Fall Roundup goal is for each pack to have 5 more registered boys by October 31 than they had as of January 1. For our pack, this means we are to have 47 boys registered. We will work with ward leaders to identify less-active and non-LDS boys who may be interested in participating in Cub Scouts.
If you have items for the agenda for next month's meeting, please send them to Bill Litchman at wmlitchman@yahoo.com. Thank you.
